SF is a big town. I think I walked it all over today without finding the elusive burrito place of my dreams. I couldn’t be happier, walking around hunting burritos, but you know, when you don’t even find any in the end, you can kinda get discouraged.
Plus, it doesn’t help that I seem to have opted in to the ‘boring san francisco because everything’s closed because it’s memorial day’ tour package. I caught all the wrong spots, like the abandoned financial district & the bombed out warehouse district… The best thing I found, though, which really was good: there’s a park behind city hall where like a hundred people were sleeping. It looked like a plague had been through or like the sun had a poisonous effect on san franciscans. Or maybe it was DDT. You never know.
Now I’m at pier by the bay bridge (did I mention that I actually started the day at the pier by the bay bridge, too? I think I got a little lost) waiting for my appt. at Compumentor to meet my ride out to Cisco in San Jose. I’m such a jet-setting young business-type all of a sudden. Woot!
