Academic flying post on SEM’s Soundmatters

Catherine Grant, Megan Collins, and I wrote a short article together based on our 2017 panel at ICTM Limerick. In this post, we ally ourselves with recent calls for greater equality and justice in ethnomusicology, and we consider how some of our current conference practices—specifically those that privilege air travel—reinforce structural inequities in our discipline and contribute to a growing global environmental crisis.
