About Me

I’m a Master’s PhD student in Ethnomusicology at the University of British Columbia, Canada. Currently most of my research focuses on the traditional musics of Timor-Leste, though I’m doing a bit of work on computer-assisted music transcription as well. I’m also a multi-instrumentalist, a sometimes-composer, and a music-educator. I play trumpet and guitar and I noodle around on all sorts of other things. I have a strong interest in world, jazz, and improvised music (though I’m not picky, mostly I just like music), and I perform regularly with Vancouver indie band Wintermitts. I completed a Bachelor’s degree in applied music performance at Vancouver Community College.

If you’re interested in any of these sorts of things, check out my blog. I don’t update it often, but you know, that’s blogs for you.
